  • Peggy Swartz

    Peggy Swartz is one of the founders of the Suzuki program in Fairbanks. She came to town in 1958 as a new bride after graduating from the University of Illinois with a Master of Music in cello. She became interested in the Suzuki Method when the youngest of her four children was five and interested in the violin. Her Suzuki training consists of workshops given by many violin and cello teachers as well as a trip to Japan to watch Suzuki at his school in Matsumoto.

  • Mandi Wisland Silveira

    Mandi Silveira is currently a student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. She has been giving private lessons since 2006, and has been a Suzuki member since 2009. She enjoys being involved in many musical groups both on and off campus including the Fairbanks Youth Symphony, the Summer Music Academy, and the Fairbanks Flutists.
